Accreditation
LAP is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE).
The LAP Director and Lead Teacher are speech-language pathologists licensed by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services. They also hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
University students enrolled in clinical practicum at LAP are students within the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences & Disorders. The department’s Intercampus Program in Communicative Disorders is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology within the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
We also welcome undergraduate student volunteers. All LAP staff comply with KDHE regulations related to training, background checks, safety, and confidentiality.
