Janel Leitch, MA, CCC-SLP

Janel is the Lead Teacher of the Language Acquisition Preschool (LAP). She earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Kansas State University and a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas. Janel has worked in a variety of settings, including early childhood in a public school district, infant and toddler services, and pediatric home health. She completed the Hanen Program certification "It Takes Two to Talk." Janel co-chaired the Ryan Gray Playground for All Children committee, raising funds to design and build a new and fully accessible playground in 2017. She has always had a passion for teaching children and watching them grow and learn. She lives in Lawrence with her husband and 4 children. Janel holds a license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Kansas. She joined the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing at KU in August 2019.
